BREAKING: Shooting at Enchanted Hills
According to Sgt. Chad Hill of Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, one person is confirmed dead, and two are in serious condition after a shooting in Cromwell.
Neighbors reported that Gary Helman was possibly staying with his mother, Atta Belle Helman, at the home at 9174 Doswell Blvd, the scene of the crime. County records indicate Helman did have open warrants and allegedly, bounty hunters came onto the property to serve warrants.
During the exchange, an altercation arose and shots were fired. The deceased individual was reportedly found in a bedroom inside the home. The identity of the person who was killed and the two injured people have not yet been released by authorities, but two persons of interest are in police custody, but no arrests have been made.

BREAKING: At approximately 6:50 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, police were dispatched on a possible shooting on Doswell Boulevard, near Enchanted Hills in Cromwell. According to a report issued by Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, when officers arrived on scene they found two male individuals with gunshot wounds outside of the residence. Another individual was found inside the home, also suffering from gunshot wounds.
The Kosciusko County Major Crimes Unit is currently processing the scene. KCSD was assisted by Indiana State Police. No further information will be available until the investigation is completed.
