Congresswoman Jackie Walorski Announces Education Tour
Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (IN-02) announced next week she will participate in a district-wide education tour where she will hear from education officials, community leaders, and students about ways to improve opportunities that will prepare northern Indiana students for a globally competitive workforce.
Stops on the tour include:
Wednesday, September 3, 2014:
8 a.m. ET – Walorski will tour the Ivy Tech Warsaw Orthopedic and Advanced Manufacturing Facility, located at 955 Executive Drive in Warsaw.
9:30 a.m. ET – Walorski will tour the Heartland Career Center in Wabash and receive a demonstration of vocational training for high school students
10:30 a.m. ET – Walorski will tour Peru High School and visit the Peru Community Schools Art Gallery, a permanent art gallery, courtesy of a Peru High School alumnus, that is a world-class, original art collection consisting of paintings from Pablo Picasso to 54 pieces of oriental art.
12 p.m. ET – Walorski will tour Rochester Community High School and discuss the 1:1 Initiative and 21st Century Skills.
1:30 p.m. ET – Walorski will tour West Central High School in Francesville.
3 p.m. ET – Walorski will tour Starke County Initiative for Lifelong Learning (SCILL) and receive a briefing on the welding program.
Thursday, September 4, 2014
8 a.m. ET – Walorski will tour Elkhart United Way and participate in a briefing on ALICE.
10 a.m. ET – Walorski will tour John Glenn High School in Walkerton, one of Indiana’s top public schools, to highlight their music program.
11:30 a.m. ET – Walorski will tour the South LaPorte County Special Education Cooperative and meet with students and discuss raising awareness on autism.
1:30 p.m. ET – Walorski tour Plymouth High School and hear from officials about Project Lead the Way.
Walorski is a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, House Armed Services Committee and House Budget Committee.
