Kids Market Inc., a non-profit organization, will be hosting their semi-annual sale on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Rodeheaver Auditorium on the campus of Grace College in Winona Lake.
The organization exists to help the women and children of Kosciusko County by holding two consignment sales each year. For the September sale, it is time to clean out the closets and price the Halloween costumes, outgrown snow gear, and Holiday dress wear – to name a few items you will find on Saturday.
Kids Market Inc’s., sales are a win-win. The consignors are able to sell their items and make a percentage of the sale, items are donated to many organizations within Kosciusko County that Kids Market has adopted and after the bills are paid and the organization has budgeted for the next sale, the money that is left over is given away.
After the March 2014 sale, Kids Market Inc. donated $12,100 to the following non-profit charities: Project Independence, Beaman Home, Heartline, YMCA Summer Camp Scholarships, New Beginnings Preschool, North Webster Daycare, Baker Youth Club, Teen Parents Succeeding, Fellowship Missions, Little Lambs Preschool.
Since its first sale in the fall of 2001, Kids Market has donated over $179,000 to local organizations.
Kids Market has many unforgettable moments throughout the sale weekend. Families that the organization has adopted get the chance to come and pick out clothing for free.
Area organizations come to collect multiple boxes of donated items. The organization hears stories about how this sale has helped the women and children that live in the community. The hard work has been paid when the organization meets with the local non-profits to make the financial donations to their organizations and gets to see firsthand how much the sale impacts moms and their children.
