Warsaw Volleyball Handles Knights
KENDALLVILLE – The Warsaw volleyball program made it a clean sweep over East Noble Wednesday night.
The Tigers won the varsity, junior varsity and freshman matches versus the Knights.
The Warsaw varsity topped East Noble 25-14, 25-12, 25-20 to improve to 11-3 on the season.
Caroline Mayer and Katie Voelz each had six kills for the winners. Celia Heckert and Kenzie Welk each had five kills for the varsity squad.
Cassie Hoag had 28 assists and also led the team with four aces. Voelz, Welk and Peyton Adamiec each had two aces. Adamiec led the defense with 15 digs, while Voelz had nine, Hoag seven and Blake McGarvey five.
Voelz, one of two seniors, had three blocks. Courtney Steffensmeier also had three blocks, while Heckert and Welk each had two.
The junior varsity team posted a 25-10, 25-24 win to improve to 5-1.
Nikki Parrett led the offense with seven kills, while Hanna Leach and Alexia Day each had six and Welk five. Abby Serbousek had 23 assists. Lucy Fahler had three aces and Serbousek two. Raina Armey had nine digs, while Fahler and Welk each had eight.
The Warsaw freshman team improved to 10-1 on the season with a 25-18, 25-17 win.
Warsaw hosts Columbia City on Tuesday.
