Wawasee Walk To Step Off
The Wawasee Walk, a fundraiser for two Kosciusko County charities, will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Syracuse Community Center.
Participants will have a choice of two routes. The longer route, about 4.5 miles, involves a walk around Syracuse Lake. The 2.5 mile route will take walkers to and from Rose Home, a Christian halfway house for drug- and alcohol-addicted women. The facility is located north of Syracuse, where refreshments and tours will be offered between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Proceeds will be evenly split between Rose Home and Habitat for Humanity’s building project in North Webster for a needy family of seven.
Registrants are encouraged to collect pledges and will be instructed at the walk where to drop off donations. There is no fee for participating in the walk.
