Kevin L. Klinger
Kevin L. Klinger, 51, of Atwood, Ind., passed away at 8:51 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, in the Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
On Feb. 1, 1963, in Warsaw, Ind., he was born to Duane Klinger, who survives and the late Shirley (Hively) Rohrer.
He spent most of his life in Kosciusko County, Indiana and worked for Creighton Brothers. He graduated from East Palestine High School, East Palestine, Ohio in 1981. He served in the U.S. Army from 1981 until his honorable discharge in 1986. Kevin coached Young Tiger Football for a number of years in Warsaw, Indiana.
He is survived by his father; two daughters: Heather Contrera, Portsmith, Va.; Cortney Hetrick, Spencerville, Ind.; one brother: Rock (Bev) Klinger, Three Rivers, Mich.; step-brother: Mike (Missy) Smith, Ohio; four sisters: Deb Klinger, Colorado; Pam (Mark) Fulk, Sidney, Ind.; Karen (Pat) Ihnen, Silver Lake, Ind.; Kathy (Terry) Killian, Atwood; two step-sisters: Penny Miller, Ohio; and Holly Platt, Warsaw, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his mother; step-father: Vern Rohrer; and his brother: Wendall D. Klinger.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. His graveside service will be conducted at Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, Ind., on Friday Sept. 19, following the visitation and will be officiated by Pastor Terry Bradford. Military graveside rites will be conducted by members of the American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. #1126 both of Warsaw.
