AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley Middle School volleyball teams defeated Triton in action Thursday.

The 7th grade A team posted a 25-8, 14-25, 25-10 win.

Ally Betten had two kills and five aces and Ali Miller five aces for Valley. Alexis Michael had three aces, while Kaitlyn Lewis had an ace and Emily Murphy had three assists. Makenzie Woodcox had an ace and Caleigh Byrer and ace and two assists.

The Valley 8th grade A team won 25-6, 25-10.

Shayleigh Shriver had 12 aces to go with eight digs and two kills. Hannah Jansma had five aces and Sydney Howard three aces and two assists. Anna Walters had four assists, while Sophie Bussard had six digs and Hannh Durkes and Marlea Myers each had two kills.

Leaders for the Valley 8th grade B team were Sarah Myers with five assists, Mckenzie Oldham with four aces and Rachael Randall with two kills.

The Valley Middle School football teams posted a pair of wins Tuesday.

The 7th grade team blanked Southwood 39-0. Jaydin Conley led the way with three touchdowns. Tanner Trippiedi, Zach Landis and Dakota Gaff each had one score and Jalen Potter had three interceptions.

The Valley 8th grade team topped Southwood 34-8. Alex Morrison scored two touchdowns for the winners. Alex Bell and Josh Ebey each scored a touchdown and Cameron Parker returned an interception for a score. Noah Miller also had an interception and Wes Melanson had 69 total yards.

The 8th grade volleyball team lost to Edgewood 25-16, 25-19 and the 7th grade team lost to Edgewood 25-16, 25-18 Tuesday. The 7th grade B team also lost 25-8.

The 6th grade A team beat Mentone 25-22, 25-21 and the B team won 25-17, 25-19.
