GWMA Observing Hunger Awareness Sunday
By KEN LOCKE
GWMA Director
September is Hunger Action Month and the Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association has set Sunday, Sept. 28 as “Hunger Awareness Sunday” as reminder that there are those locally and around the world that are in need of food.
According to statistics about 33 percent of the world’s population is facing hunger and starvation representing 936 million people who don’t have enough to eat. About 11 percent of the U.S. population faces hunger issues daily.
We are asking churches and individuals to take a moment this Sunday and remember the issue of hunger. Take a donation of food to a pantry or donate monies to international relief organization that is addressing hunger. The GWMA is also accepting financial donations to support Church World Service and The Salvation Army who are addressing hunger.
Send donations to: GWMA, P.O. Box 1797, Warsaw, IN 46581.
