Heart Of The Harvest Festival A Success
It felt more like summer at today’s North Webster Heart of the Harvest Fall Festival. Sunny skies and temperatures in the middle 70s proved to be the perfect back-drop for the annual festival.
The festival is sponsored by the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce.
“We couldn’t have had a more picture-perfect day,” said Sue Ward, chamber president. “We have a lot of families with kids here and it’s a good turn out. As the day goes on, more and people are coming.”
The chamber sold several kinds of soup with corn bread and Ward said soup sales were doing very good.
The day’s activities included pony rides, games, two bounce houses, piglet race, petting zoo and a cake walk. Music during the cake walk was provided by Captain Bob, the singing Dixie skipper. Goodies for the cake walk were donated by various chamber members. There was also a pumpkin decorating contest and face painting.
There was also plenty of food. In addition to a variety of soups, the North Webster Lions Club sold grilled pork loin sandwiches.
All proceeds earned by today’s festival will go toward Santa’s visit to North Webster at the beginning of the Christmas season.
The free family festival continues until 4 p.m. today.
