There’s a nip in the air. Fall is settling upon northern Indiana. And it’s October, which means it is once again time for Oaktoberfest at Oakwood Resort in Syracuse.

This year’s wunderbar event, slated for Saturday, Oct. 11. From 3-10 p.m., will be abuzz with family activities, live music, dance performances, wiener dog races and a costume contest.

Started at 3 p.m., there will be live animals, pony rides, a bounce house, children’s games, lakeside vendors and ethnic foods. Deb Collier’s Dance Team will also be performing at this time.

At 4 p.m., Lee Anne Stewart’s Fusion Dance Team will perform. Following at 5 p.m. is the wiener dog races and the costume contest.

From 6-10 p.m. fun for the older kids gears up. The Jay Fox Bavarian Showtime Band will perform. The beergarten opens, and imported wines will be available. German foods will be served. There will be dancing, games and other activities.
