Third Annual Farmers Market Chili Cook-Off
The Third Annual Farmers Market Chili Cook-Off will be held downtown Warsaw on Saturday, Oct. 11, in the City Hall Plaza. All Kosciusko County chili chefs are invited to participate in the competition. The cook-off will be held during the farmers market from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
You should arrive by 10:30 a.m. to set up your area. Pre-registration is required for this event and registration forms can be found on the Kosciusko County Farmers Market Facebook page, from any market vendor, at the Latte Lounge located at 108 N. Buffalo St., Warsaw, or by clicking here.
Judging will begin at noon, and the peoples choice will be a penny per vote at each table and will be announced at 1 p.m.
The Rules
The chili must be made from scratch, no pre-made chili.
You may use pre-made beans, mixes, and chili powder.
The chili may be made the night before, but must be kept hot at he contest using your camp stoves, crockpots, or propane burners.
We encourage you to use local produce from the market.
You will need to provide three one-cup samples for the judges as well as samples for the voters- three to five gallons and a soup ladle.
We will provide small tasting cups and spoons for the voters.
Judges choice will win a picture with the traveling trophy (with your name on it) and an engraved spatula to keep.
Peoples choice award will be a penny per vote at your booth and winner will receive a special prize. The collected vote money will go to the winners choice of charity.
