The Wagon Wheel Theatre’s community theatre The Center Street Community Theatre debuts its first show “You Can’t Take it with You” starting Oct. 10-12 at the Wagon Wheel Theatre, Warsaw.
You Can’t Take it with You tells the story of two families meeting when their children have fallen in love. Alice Sycamore must introduce her family to her fiancé Tony Kirby. The Kirby family are very wealthy and self-important, while the Sycamore’s are slightly odd. The two families come together to celebrate an engagement but collide in philosophy and lifestyle.
The Center Street Community Theatre is an organization dedicated to stimulating and maintaining local interest and participation in the theatre. The organization strives to involve community members in all aspects of the theatre giving experienced and unexperienced actors and technicians the opportunity to use and learn new skills and encourage individuals to share their best talents with others on and off stage.
Community members featured in the show include Dan Kuhn, Dave Baumgartner and Lori Widman. Kuhn teaches history at Warsaw High School, Baumgartner is a retired Warsaw High School teacher, and Widman works in the office at Lakeland Christian Academy.
Director of the Center Street Community Theatre and production of “You Can’t Take it with You” Jennifer Shepard says, ”Reviving community theater in the Warsaw area has been a joy. The surrounding communities have many talented adults who enjoy performing on stage, working backstage, and experiencing the fellowship of other like-minded individuals. The Center Street Community Theater is the beginning of another quality program under the umbrella of the Wagon Wheel Theatre. We encourage others to get involved!”
Tickets are $12 each. For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.wagonwheeltheatre.org or call the box office at (574) 267-8041.
