Kolbe Is Clearly The Best
Dear Editor,
On Monday night I attended the Candidates Forum at the Center Park Pavilion. I’m very glad I did and will make it a point to attend such functions in the future. They are very useful tools when comparing and assessing candidates.
Each candidate had 2-3 minutes to answer questions pertaining to their area of representation. Most of the candidates used their time wisely to state their views and explain their positions and most of the candidates seemed prepared and comfortable and aware of the issues facing our county and District 22.
There was however a clear winner, in my opinion, in David Kolbe. He addressed each question, stated his view and then explained why he held that view. He made good use of the time allotted for each question whereas the other two District 22 candidates either went off topic or had an answer of “yes, I support that fully,” with no explanation as to why.
I think we all would like to know the reasoning behind support or lack of support for legislation. I think a representative owes the public that much.
There were other little details, which some may call nit picking, that added to the confidence I have in David Kolbe’s ability to represent District 22.
He is clearly comfortable in front of an audience. He stands while addressing us. He does not “expect” your vote, but aims to win it.
And, finally, David’s approach to problem solving is not “my way or the highway”. There are too many issues in this world that can be solved in many different ways.
He is able to realize that, examine the sides, gather information from those who are more knowledgeable in a particular area than himself, and then make an informed decision that will benefit the district.
David Kolbe is clearly the best person to represent District 22.
His approach to leadership will assure that the majority of the community will be heard and their issues will be addressed.
