Syracuse Man Arrested For Theft, Drug Charges
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Drug Task Force deputies, along with officers from Syracuse Police Department, arrested Jason Paul Halsey, 40, 9485 N. SR 13, Syracuse, for theft and various drug charges.
According to a press release from KCSD, at approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, law enforcement executed a search warrant at 9485 N. SR 13 in Syracuse. Upon entering the property, officers took Halsey into custody without incident. Items associated with meth production were found, as well as substances believed to be a synthetic drug.
The investigation on Halsey originally began when SPD officers identified him as a suspect in a theft from Syracuse Ace Hardware. The power drill stolen from the hardware store was also located at Halsey’s residence.
Halsey is preliminarily charged with felony theft, possession of synthetic drug/cannabinoid and possession of precursors used in the production of methamphetamine. His bond was set at $2,000. The Kosciusko Count Prosecutor’s Office also assisted KCSD and Syracuse police with the investigation. The prosecutor’s office advises that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
