Wildcats, Vikings Honored By TRC
A total of 10 players from the Whitko and Tippecanoe Valley football teams have earned all-conference honors for the 2014 season.
The Wildcats, who finished as Three Rivers Conference runner-up this fall, had six players named to the all-conference team by the league’s coaches.
Whitko players honored from coach Josh Mohr’s squad were seniors Zach Snep (defensive end), Sam Silor (linebacker), Zach Baughman (offensive tackle) and Tanner Hughes (running back). Also saluted were juniors Brady Weeks (defensive back) and Chase Bradley (defensive line).
The Wildcats went 6-4 overall and finished 6-1 in the TRC this season.
The Tippecanoe Valley trio of seniors Austin French (offensive guard) and Jonah Mikel (tight end) and junior Garrett Bell (linebacker) earned All-TRC honors for coach Scott Bibler’s team.
Brandon Webster of Tippecanoe Valley was an honorable mention choice to the All-TRC team.
The Vikings finished 1-9 overall and 1-6 in league play this fall.
Rochester won the TRC title at 7-0. Whitko was second at 6-1, followed by Northfield (5-2), Southwood (4-3), Manchester (3-4), Tippecanoe Valley (1-6), Wabash (1-6) and North Miami (1-6).
