Milford Public Library This Week

Celebrate Thanksgiving
This is the time of year most people reflect on what they are thankful for. Most people are thankful for loved ones, good health, their jobs and their homes. Here at Milford Public Library we are thankful for our community and Board who support the library.
Many of us will gather with our families and enjoy a feast of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. Many others will be out serving Thanksgiving meals to those who are unable to provide them.
Wherever you are this Thanksgiving, we hope you are safe and warm and full of turkey. Here at the library, we have a multitude of books with Thanksgiving traditions, recipes, and holiday celebrations.
Before the Thanksgiving holiday hits, why not stop by and check out the following books and movies.
“Thanksgiving” by Janet Evanovich
“Thanksgiving Then and Now” by Jessica Gunderson
“A Family for Thanksgiving” by Patricia Davids
“Thanksgiving Day Crafts” by Arlene Erlbach
“Thanksgiving Prayer” by Debbie Macomber
“The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays” by Ree Drummond
“Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade” (DVD)
“A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” (DVD)
Nutrition Program
Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Grandma’s Cheese Ball, Egg Nog … oh so good, but not very healthy. Join us from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, in the meeting room for recipes and tips on how to make Healthy Holiday Desserts.
Stephanie Faroh, Purdue Extension Educator, will be presenting the program and providing sample recipes and nutritional information to take home. Enter a drawing for door prizes when you come.
The sign-up sheet will be available beginning Nov. 17 at the adult circulation desk. Hope to see you there!
After School is Cool
Come this week to After School is Cool on Tuesday, Nov. 25, for a fall craft that you can hang on your door. Join Miss Adilene as you create a turkey wreath out of paper plates and paper.
After you create your turkey wreath, enjoy a fall snack.
Invite your friends and make turkey wreaths for your bedroom doors. Remember that each After School is Cool you attend earns you 10 points. When you have 40 points, you can choose a paperback book to add to your home library.
Closed for Thanksgiving
We will be closed on Nov. 27 in observance of Thanksgiving. We wish all of you a happy, healthy holiday. We will reopen at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28.
