Marquette Spoils LCA Home Opener
WINONA LAKE – After three straight road games, Lakeland Christian Academy’s girls basketball team was glad to finally get a game at home. Except Michigan City Marquette didn’t lay down, winning 63-48 Friday evening.
Rachel Sand, who averaged 19 points per game in her first two contests only to be held to five points in her last outing against Churubusco, rebounded with 19 points against Marquette. Sands was 5-11 from the free throw line.
Hannah Delp added 13 points, Melissa Goss had six points and the trio of Carrissa Urshalitz, Ashley Ormsby and Maryl Gerst all netted four points.
Point scorers for Marquette (2-4) were not issued.
LCA (1-3) will play again Monday at Bethany Christian.
