‘On The Edge’ Returns To WCS
Students at Edgewood Middle school are again working together to publish their own, student-staffed newspaper On The Edge.
The club is comprised of nine members, in both seventh and eighth grade, who collaborate to bring students stories on education, current news topics, Edgewood staff and sports, community and business events and even a taste of the arts.
According to Edgewood teacher and On The Edge instructor Kami Toumey, a total of 400 copies of the student newspaper are printed and given to classes throughout the middle school. Toumey notes the club began as an effort to promote school-wide reading and writing. This is the second year for the club.
In collaboration with On The Edge, InkFreeNews.com will once again bring students’ work to residents of Kosciusko County and beyond. Providing an opportunity for extra exposure and experience for students in the club, InkFreeNews.com will publish several student-written articles from each issue to share with our readers. Below is a list and short biography of this year’s On The Edge staff.
