Jennifer N. Irwin, 24, North Syracuse-Webster Road, Syracuse, signed off on medical care at the scene of a one-vehicle accident Monday morning.

The accident was at 5:33 a.m. on North Syracuse-Webster Road, west of North CR 700E, Syracuse.

Irwin told police she was eastbound when she saw a deer in the roadway. She thought she was stepping on the brake, but hit the accelerator, causing the SUV to fish tail. The vehicle left the roadway and collided with an REMC pole, snapping the pole.

Damage was estimated up to $5,000.

Turkey Creek Fire Territory Fire Department and Paramedics responded to an accident on Syracuse-Webster Road and CR 700E.

The driver of the vehicle was not transported to a hospital.
