House Speaker Brian C. Bosma announced standing committee assignments Wednesday for the 119th General Assembly. Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election.
State Rep. Curt Nisly, House District 22, received three committee assignments.
“It is an honor and privilege to have been selected to serve on these three important committees,” said Nisly.
Nisly has been appointed to the Roads and Transportation Committee, the Select Committee on Government Reduction and the Statutory Committee on Interstate and International Cooperation.
“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know they are all eager to begin their work,” said Bosma.
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
“I am committed to reducing the size and scope of government to make it operate more efficiently and look forward to crafting bills in this regard with my role on the Select Committee on Government Reduction. I am also eager to work with my colleagues on Roads and Transportation. Making sure our state’s infrastructure is strong is the key to bringing more jobs to our communities,” said Nisly.
