Comedy Superstar Dave Chappelle Coming To Indianapolis
Whether it be from the films Half Baked, Con Air or You’ve Got Mail, from his very popular television series or just from a friend, you have undoubtedly heard a joke by Dave Chappelle, whether you knew it or not.
He is considered by many to be the funniest man alive, if not of all time. He has appeared in a variety of films over the years but is perhaps most known for his performance on his own series, “Chappelle’s Show.” The show is no longer filming, but maintains a cult following due to original characters like Tyrone Biggums and Clayton Bigsby, not to mention his iconic impressions of Rick James and Prince.
Since departing from “Chappelle’s Show” in 2005, Chappelle has turned his focus back to stand-up. He’s been touring, making impromptu appearances at comedy clubs and he co-headlined the Oddball Comedy & Curiosity festival in 2013.
Chappelle’s outspoken nature has led some sources to label him as controversial, but his knack for humor and penchant for acting have made him a fan favorite since he started off as a stand up comic in New York City during the early 1990s.
Chappelle will be bringing his stand-up to the Hoosier state later this month. The comedy icon will be performing at the Egyptian Room at Old National Centre at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22. Tickets are $55 and go on sale at 10 a.m. today.
