Vikings Roll To Conference Win
AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team continued to roll right along Friday night.
A fast started carried the host Vikings to a dominating 62-23 win over North Miami in Three Rivers Conference play.
Valley outscored their guests 20-6 in the opening frame and had a 41-15 advantage by halftime of the conference contest.
Viking star sophomore Anne Secrest continued her outstanding all-around play as the Vikings moved to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the TRC. Secrest scored a game-high 22 points on 9-10 shooting from the field. She also had five rebounds, five steals and four blocked shots for the winners.
Senior Caylie Teel also turned in a strong effort for the Vikings. Teel had 12 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Taylor Trippiedi added 11 points and Brynda Krueger had seven points and a team-high total of eight rebounds.
Carlee Lefebvre led North Miami, which dropped to 2-7 with its sixth straight loss, with 11 points.
Valley hosts Winamac Thursday. North Miami hosts TRC foe Rochester on dec. 20.
