Valley Girls Continue Winning Ways
AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team just continues to roll right along.
A red-hit start Thursday night carried the red-hot Vikings to a dominating 74-29 home win over Winamac.
The Vikings, who improve to 8-1 on the season with their fourth straight win, outscored their guests 24-7 in the opening quarter en route to the rout.
Sophomore star Anne Secrest just missed a triple double for Valley. The 6-0 center had 23 points to go with nine steals and eight rebounds.
Valley came up with 21 steals in the game. The Vikings also shot 74 percent from the field in the win, including an incredible 86 percent in the second half.
Senior standout Caylie Teel had another big performance too for coach Chris Kindig’s talented team. Teel finished with 18 points, four steals and four assists.
Brynda Krueger and Meredith Brouyette each had eight points for Valley.
Valley plays at conference foe Whitko Saturday night. Winamac, now 3-7, plays at North Miami Saturday afternoon.
