Betty I. Ginther
Betty I. Ginther, 84, of Rochester passed away at 4:54 p.m. Dec. 16, 2014, at her residence.
On April 9, 1930, Betty was born in Kewanna to Gilbert K. and Ollie Harris White. Growing up she shared her childhood with six brothers and four sisters
On Feb. 21, 1948, Harry Ginther Jr. and Betty White Ginther were married in Rochester. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 2013.
Together they shared over 65 1/2 years of life’s adventures.
In 1985, Ginther retired from General Tire in Wabash after 30 years of dedicated service. An avid reader she especially loved the mysteries authored by James Patterson. Each year she and her family planted a large garden.
She and Harry wintered near Sebring, Fla., for a number of years.
Survivors include: two daughters: Diana and husband Dennis DeMarco, Cindy and husband Michael Jernigan; a son Dan Ginther and wife Karen; six grandchildren: Kelli Denton and husband Doug, Deke DeMarco, Chad Jernigan and wife Dana, Amy Lester and husband David, Christy Waterman and husband Ryan, Darla Beck and husband Deric; 11 great-grandchildren: Drew, Derek, Austin, Adam, Noah, Kaleb, Brady, Brant, Carson, Breanna, and Katie; brothers Bill Brown and wife Pat, and Jerry Brown and wife Shirley; several nieces and nephews; best friends Carolyn and Keith Bathrick; and wonderful neighbors, the Gary Clevenger Family
Preceding Betty in death are her parents; husband; two granddaughters: Candy Jernigan and Jodie Ginther; four sisters: Klida, Verda, Ada, Maxine; and four brothers: Robert, Hobart, Pete and Walter.
Interment was in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
