Julia Patricia ‘Pat’ Moran, 87, of Leesburg, and formerly of Huntington, passed away at 1:37 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at IU Health Goshen Hospice, Goshen.

Pat was born on April 17, 1927, in Rockford, Ill.., to Benjamin and Loretta (Pratt) Knop. Her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Moran married Patrick Richard Moran on Aug. 29, 1953, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington. He preceded her in death.

Pat was a 1945 graduate of Short Ridge High School. Pat attended University of Tennessee, IPFW (Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne) and Huntington College. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, and Ladies Auxiliary VFW #2689.

Pat is survived by four sons: Patrick R. (Chris) Moran, Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.; Thomas Patrick (Peggy) Moran, Huntington; James Patrick (Dawn) Moran, Saucier, Miss.; John Patrick Moran, Warsaw; two daughters: Loretta Patricia Ousley, Leesburg; Julie Patricia (James) Spurgeon, Middlebury; five grandchildren: Andrew Ousley, Christopher Ousley, Kiri (Stephen) Roeseler, Michelle Moran and Abby Moran; two great-grandchildren: Tanner Roeseler and Caleb Roeseler; and her special friend: Koda.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother: John F. Knop.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with Father Ron Rieder, OFM Cap presiding. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
