Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

7:43 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, West SR 14 south of South CR 750W, Silver Lake. Driver: Ronald L. Phillips, 36, North Jefferson Street, Silver Lake. Phillips failed to stop for the intersection, going off the roadway into a wooded area. Damage up to $10,000.

2:04 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, North CR 300E and EMS D24 Lane, Syracuse. Drivers: Tiffany R. Cramer, 19, South Manor Drive, Syracuse, and David A. Melching, 53, EMS D24 Lane, Syracuse. Cramer struck the back of the Melching vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.

8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, South CR 400E and East SR 14, Sidney. Driver: Matthew M. Smith, 36, West CR 1300N, Silver Lake. Smith was talking to his passenger did not realize he was approaching a stop sign. When he went to stop his vehicle slid on wet pavement, sliding into an embankment. Smith and an unidentified passenger refused treatment at the scene and would seek treatment from personal doctors. Damage up to $2,500.

6:22 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, CR 25S, west of CR 800W, Warsaw. Driver: Joyce E. Reece, 56, North Michigan Street Argos. Hit deer. Damage up to $1,000.

4:06 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, South SR 13 and CR 600S, Sidney. Drivers: Stanley R. Mikel, 62, Parke View Lane, Bremen, and Fred Shepherd, 53, Old Wabash Road, North Manchester. Mikel was looking down at something in his vehicle for a moment and when he looked up saw the Shepherd vehicle stopped but could not avoid the crash. The impact shoved the Shepherd vehicle into the southbound side of the road. Mikel suffered minor bleeding to the elbow/lower arm, Shepherd complained of back pain. Both were checked by EMS. Damage up to $25,000.

3:14 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, North SR 13 and East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Drivers: Lesley R. Henson, 33, North CR 650E, Warsaw, and Natasha L. Williamson, 30, West 600S, Claypool. Williams complained of pain to the hip/upper leg and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Henson was southbound and slowed in traffic, waiting to make a left turn across traffic onto CR 1000N. Williamson was northbound and went into the turn lane on the right to pass the two stopped vehicles, when Henson turned in front of her vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.

12:58 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, North Syracuse-Webster Road, south of East Blacks Court, North Webster. Driver: Leslie A. Patrick, 35, South Walnut Drive, North Webster. Patrick swerved to miss an animal, went off road and struck a bank of mailboxes. Damage up to $5,000.
