UPDATE: Accident Behind Sleepy Owl
Bobi K. Sopher 38, North SR 13, Syracuse, complained of pain to the head, after her vehicle slid off the road at 7:50 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26. The accident was a North SR 13 and North Lake View Trace.
Syracuse Police report Sopher lost control of her vehicle due to icy road conditions at the intersection. Sopher was northbound on SR 13 at the time of the accident. The vehicle appears to have turned half way around and exited the roadway where it struck a stop sign and street sign and post. The vehicle then hit a culvert causing the vehicle to roll over and back onto its wheels.
There was damage to the county highway signs, grass/sod at Wawasee Beach Club Condominiums due to the accident. Damage was estimated up to $25,000.
INITIAL: Turkey Creek Fire Territory Fire and Paramedics, along with Syracuse Police, are en route to a report of a vehicle rolled over behind Sleepy Owl.
According to The Mail-Journal reporter Chelsea Los, one person was transported to the hospital.
An officer en route to the scene is reporting SR 13 is extremely slick.
