Goshen Injury Crash Investigation Update
At approximately 2:56 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, officers and paramedics were called to the scene of a personal injury accident in the 700 block of West Lincoln Avenue in Goshen. Witnesses reported two vehicles were seen in a speed contest originated near the Autozone store located at Lincoln Avenue and Second Street.
The vehicles, a blue Caprice and a white Mustang, traveled west on Lincoln Avenue and accelerated to speeds believed to have exceeded 80 miles per hour. In the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue at the intersection with Denver Street, the blue Caprice collided with a white SUV driven by an adult female. The white SUV was being driven from Denver and crossing Lincoln Avenue to drive east on Lincoln.
Upon impact the driver of the white SUV was ejected from the vehicle. She was aided by Goshen Paramedics and transported to South Bend Memorial for treatment. Her condition is unknown at this time.
The passenger of the white SUV sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to IU Health Goshen for treatment. The driver of the Caprice was not injured.
The driver of the white Ford Mustang fled the scene of the collision without stopping. Officers have not yet located the driver of the Mustang. The suspect vehicle is described as a white Ford Shelby Mustang with blue striping and a snake decal.
