Former Home of William Henry Harrison to be Featured on “Parks and Recreation”
Grouseland, the former home of William Henry Harrison located in Vincennes, IN, will be featured in an upcoming episode of the NBC comedy “Parks and Recreation.”
The executive director of the historical home stated that a film crew for the show took interior and exterior footage of the mansion during a visit to Vincennes. However actors on the show did not film scenes on location, and the interior shots were mainly used to build sets in California for the episode, which will air Jan. 20.
Harrison lived in the mansion from 1804 to 1812 while governor of the Indiana territory. He was elected 9th President of the United States in 1840, but died just over a month after taking office of complications from pneumonia, serving the shortest tenure in US presidential history.
