NWS Issues Weather Statement
The National Weather Service Northern Indiana issued a special weather statement and hazardous outlook this morning for the area, including Kosciusko County, for a winter weather outlook for accumulating snow and bitterly cold wind chills.
Other counties included are LaPorte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, LaGrange, Steuben, Noble, DeKalb, Stark, Pulaski, Marshall, Fulton, Whitley, Allen and further south.
NWS states the light mix of rain and snow, causing slippery road conditions, will become all snow this afternoon with 1 inch to 3 inches of snow expected by this evening.
Several inches of snow are possible Monday night followed by additional lake effect snow Tuesday through Friday. Snowfall amounts of 4 inches to 7 inches are expected by Tuesday morning.
Wind chills may become dangerously cold during the middle of the week as air temperatures fall below zero. Wind chills between 15 below and 25 below zero are expected Tuesday night through early Thursday
