Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
4:53 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 8 Square Road near EMS C27 Lane, Warsaw. Driver: James B. Klinefelter, 61, EMS C28B Lane, Warsaw. Klinefelter swerved to avoid striking a deer, slid off the road due to icy conditions and struck a mailbox. Damage up to $10,000
7:49 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, US 30 near CR 250 E, Warsaw. Drivers: James E. Lough, 93, Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake; Brooke L. Thompson, 25, 9B Road, Bourbon. Lough rear-ended Thompson. Damage up to $2,500
7:05 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, Old Road 30 near CR 100 N, Warsaw. Drivers: Jennifer R. LaFollette, 26, CR 175 E, Warsaw; Judy K. Truex, 65, Columbia Street, Warsaw. LaFollette pulled into the intersection and collided with Truex. Truex attempted to avoid the collision, but was unable to do so. No injuries were reported at the scene. Weather conditions contributed to the accident. LaFollette was cited for driving while suspended. Damage up to $25,000
6:08 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, CR 100 E near CR 350 N, Warsaw. Driver: Keith A. Robbins, 60, Pearl Street, Etna Green. Driver struck deer. Damage up to $10,000
8:18 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, US 30 near Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: Amanda R. O’Connell, 27, Market Street, Pierceton. O’Connell hit an icy patch of roadway and slid into a guardrail. She refused medical care at the scene. Damage up to $2,500
6:24 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, SR 15 near CR 900 S, Silver Lake. Driver: Leeann E. Ogle. Ogle braked to avoid a collision with the vehicle in front of her and slid off the road into a ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $5,000
2 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, CR 800 N near Syracuse-Webster Road, North Webster. Driver: Joshua A. Bammel, 33, Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Vehicle ran off the roadway and caught fire for an unknown reason. The driver was not present when responders arrived at the scene. Information regarding the driver was obtained by his roommate, Mae Collier, who is the registered owner of the vehicle. Damage up to $25,000
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department responded to the following accidents:
5:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, Elm Street near Fourth Street, Milford. Driver: Michael J. Marsillett, 18, CR 500 N, North Webster. Marsillett slide on ice while attempting to brake, ultimately striking and damaging a stop sign. Damage up to $2,500
