Alfred ‘Al’ C. Geist, 85, of Plymouth, went to be with the Lord, at 1:45 a.m., on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at the Elkhart Hospice House in Elkhart.

Al was the son of Alfred L. and Roseine (Judt) Geist, born on March 1, 1929, in Mishawka. Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1960, Al and the former Sandy Scott were united in marriage. Al worked for Sherwin-Williams, Bob Rans Wholesale Company, and had a realtor’s license. He proudly served in the Indiana National Guard. His church home was the Plymouth Wesleyan Church. His favorite job was helping with his grandkids and sneaking them candy and chips.

Al’s first love was his family, and his favorite times were spent with them. He also loved to spend time outdoors helping Sandy in the yard, building things, golfing, coaching softball, cheering at his kids’ and grandkids’ sports and music events and spending time with his best friends, “The Dirty Dozen”, and Judy and Don.

Al is survived by his wife; their daughters: Kim Geist, Plymouth; Jill Beagle, Plymouth; Dana (Brian) Clark, Clarkston, Mich.; their son: Eric Geist, Plymouth; his sister: Betty Decker, Plymouth; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bud and Pat Scott, Lafayette; Tom and Pam Scott, Louisville, Ky.; Betty Geist, Plymouth; four grandchildren: Tyler Clark, Kaitlyn Clark, Jessica Beagle and Shayla Beagle.

Al was preceded in passing by his brother: Robert L. Geist.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Plymouth Wesleyan Church, 11203 S. Michigan Road, Plymouth. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at the church with Pastors Oliver Dongell and Ed Friberg officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
