Mae Ringle
Mae Ringle, 93, of Rochester, left this earth and made it home at 10:40 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at Hickory Creek of Rochester.
On Sept. 1, 1921, Mae was born in Hawkins County, Tenn., to Rome Ott and Mary Maude White McClain. Growing up she shared her childhood with five sisters and a brother. Mae and Calvin Earl Ringle were married on Dec. 25, 1941, in Star City in the bride’s parent’s home. They shared nearly 62 years of life’s adventures. He passed away on March 30, 2003.
Mae was a member of the First Church of God for many years. After nearly 30 years of service, Mae retired as a seamstress and quality inspector for Hart Schaffner Marx of Rochester, making men’s pants and vests. Memberships include Amalgamated Clothing Union, the Ladies Auxiliaries of the VFW, Moose and Eagles of Rochester.
Mae will be lovingly remembered by two daughters: Karon Patterson and husband Richard, Lynchburg, Va.; Mary Westwood and husband Edward, Rochester; one son: Rick Ringle and companion Marilyn Vote, Kokomo; daughter-in-law: Linda Ringle, Rochester; 11 grandchildren: Fred Kee, Calvin Kee, Rebecca Holt, Penni Sharp, Jennifer Overmyer, Joanna Sagun, Brian Ringle, Tracy Overmyer, Scott Westwood, Kim Westwood, Angela Westwood; two sister-in-laws: Alice Dillard and husband Bernard, Wabash; Nancy Stiles, Mentone; 16 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mae in death are her parents; husband; two sons: Gary Ringle and Jerry Ringle; five sisters: Fannie Opal, Bessie Loretta, Margaret Louise, Lottie Marie, Pearl Irene; one brother: William Arthur; and eight siblings in infancy.
Rev. Don Meyer will officiate services. Interment will be in the Citizens Cemetery.
