Governor Declares Tomorrow ‘Believe In Blue Friday’
Governor Mike Pence has declared tomorrow “Believe in Blue Friday” in Indiana to show support for the Indianapolis Colts as they head to the AFC championship game Sunday in New England.
Gov. Pence and Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker also agreed to a friendly wager on the game. As Indiana is a leading state in pork production, Gov. Pence offered to send shredded pork from Shoup’s Country Foods in Frankfort to Gov. Baker’s office if the Colts should lose.
If the Patriots lose, Gov. Baker will send Boston cream cupcakes from Springfield’s Koffee Kup Bakery and a Super Bowl themed cake from Brockton’s Montilio’s Baking Company to the Indiana Statehouse.
The winning team’s Governor’s office will also receive local food products from the losing team’s state for donation to a food pantry of their choice. Read Governor Pence’s Proclamation here.
