Martha E. Waymire
Martha E. Waymire, 87, Rochester, 12:35 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at Life Care Center of Rochester, Ind.
She was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Frankfurt, Germany. In Aug. 7, 1948, in Bad Nuheim, Germany, Martha married Vernon Marks “Bud” Waymire, who preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2008.
Martha worked for Kroger’s Ag Exchange of Wabash, Laid Law Corporation of Peru, and Chamberlin/Wen Products of Akron, Ind. She also assisted her husband while he was the Henry Township Trustee for many years. Martha also sold Avon Products.
She was a member of the Akron United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the children at the elementary school and sharing her life story with them. She was an avid bowler and was in the 600 Club at the Quick Lanes of Rochester and Asby Lanes of Wabash. Being a war bride and achieving her citizenship, she helped many in the Hispanic community gain and know the importance of being an American citizen.
She is survived by her sons: Kurt (Brenda) Waymire, Akron, Ind., and Kerry (Deb) Waymire, Glendale, Ariz.; daughter-in-law: Patsy Waymire, Akron; four grandchildren: Zachariah, Lauren, Taylor, and Nathan Waymire.
Martha was preceded in death by her sons: Michael Waymire and Max Waymire; grandson: Elijah Waymire; three brothers; Bernard, George, and Kurt Karl.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Gilead Cemetery, Gilead, Ind.
