Vikings Drop Close One
WINAMAC – A strong Winamac team edged past Tippecanoe Valley 61-58 Saturday night in prep boys basketball action.
The host Warriors won their fifth straight game to improve to 9-2 on the season.
Coach Bill Patrick’s Vikings lost for the third time in their last four games. Valley is now 6-6 on the season.
Chandler O’Connor had a strong effort with 19 points to lead the Vikings.
Alex Thacker scored nine points and Gavin Bussard, Jarred Littlejohn and Neil Clampitt each had eight. Alec Craig scored six points.
Adam Grunig scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures for Winamac. The hosts hit 10 3-pointers in the win to none for the Vikings.
Valley will host Clinton Christian Tuesday night and then entertain Southwood for a Three Rivers Conference contest on Friday night. The Vikings are 2-0 in the TRC.
Winamac hosts Tri-County on Friday night.
