Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
7:21 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, North CR 175E, south of East CR 175N, Warsaw. Driver: Jose L. Vega-Nunez, 20, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Vega-Nunez suffered minor bleeding to the face. Vega-Nunez failed to negotiate a curve, hitting a KREMC pole and Century Link phone box. Damage up to $50,000.
8:31 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, North CR 700W, north of North Williamson Drive, Atwood. Driver: Kyle J. Dean, 34, Swede Drive, Elkhart. Dean fell asleep while driving, went off the road way and hit a utility pole. Damage up to $25,000.
4:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, South SR 19, north of West CR 100S, Etna Green. Driver: Robin C. Heckman, 43, East North Street, Akron. Hit deer. Damage up to $10,000.
10:06 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, South CR 600W, and West CR 950S, Silver Lake. Driver: Katie K. Bowser, 21, East Pierceton Road, Warsaw. Bowser complained of pain to the head. Bowser hit the accelerator instead of the clutch, causing her to loose control of her vehicle. The vehicle spun, went off the road and struck a fence owned by Miles E. Hoffman, Damage up to $5,000.
7:25 a.m.Saturday, Jan. 17, North SR 13, south of East CR 200N, Pierceton. Driver: Loren M. Pruitt, 67, South Country Club Road, Warsaw. Deer hit vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:46 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, South CR 675W and West McClure Drive, Silver Lake. Driver: Brandon J. Bays, 26, West Northcrest Lane, Claypool. Bays crested the hill to see a school bus stopped, when he attempted to stop, his vehicle slid on the icy road, went off west side of roadway hitting bush. Damage under $750.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:02 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, US 30E, west of North CR 150W, Warsaw. Driver: Joseph B. Jacobs, 33, North Lake Street, Warsaw, and Gennadiy I Trushov, 47, Forest Glen Circle, Port Matilda, Pa. Jacobs suffered internal injuries and was flown to a Fort Wayne Hospital. Trushov was stopped in traffic for the traffic light when the Jacob’s pick up truck collided into the semitrailer. The accident remains under investigation.
12:46 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, East Main Street, east of North Reed Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Sue A. Anders, 68, North Scott Street, Warsaw, and Pamela K Bailey, 49, Pontiac Street, Warsaw. A parked vehicle obstructed Anders’ view while driving from the alley onto Main Street, hitting the Bailey vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
