RUSSIAVILLE – Wawasee junior Tristin Ponsler continued his strong wrestling campaign with a 5-0 run Saturday at the Western Duals.

Ponsler defeated opponents from Winamac, Western, Peru, Wabash and Pioneer. For the season, Ponsler is 32-1, having lost just once in the opening weekend of the season.

Wawasee also had a trio of wrestlers go 4-1 in action at Western in Ronny Shortt, Stephen Possell and Zach Ford.

As a team, Wawasee went 1-4, defeating Pioneer among the lot. Wawasee finishes its dual season 4-29 overall.

The Warriors will next take part in the Northern Lakes Conference Championships Saturday at Goshen High School. The following weekend, sectionals open across the state, with Wawasee participating in the Plymouth Sectional.
