Fire Department Responds to Possible Train Fire
At approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Milford Fire and Police departments responded to a potential train engine fire reportedly located at the CSX train tracks just south of US 6 at CR 150N.
After responding to the scene, they were told the engine parked at that intersection was not, in fact, the one in distress. Trucks were rerouted west to the tracks intersecting Old SR 15.
Upon arrival, Milford Fire Department officials did not witness any flames from underneath the number two engine as reported. Milford Fire Chief Todd Haines suspected the initial flames may have been a result of a brake issue on the engine.
