Several Syracuse Businesses To Host Dance For Cystic Fibrosis
Lakeside Fitness, Oakwood Resort and Chautauqua-Wawasee are joining forces to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis by hosting an Ultimate Dance Party and Zumba night with the area’s favorite instructors and featuring disc jockey D.J. Daddy.
The event will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at the Oakwood Resort’s Event Center. Tickets are only $10 each and include snacks and water. There will also be a cash bar available.
The proceeds for this life-changing event will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Great Strides under team “Charlotte’s Angels.” Cystic Fibrosis is a chronic, hereditary, progressive disease that terminally affects the lungs and digestive system.
Every day is a battle for those who suffer from this fatal disease; even the common cold can cause major problems. It is a sad reality for many parents that their Cystic Fibrosis child may not live to become an adult. Four-year-old Charlotte Hawkey is one of our area residents that has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.
Tickets are available now at the Oakwood Resort, 702 E. Lake View Rd., Syracuse, or at Lakeside Fitness, 1309 S. Harkless Dr., Syracuse. Tickets in advance are preferred, but can be purchased at the door based on availability.
If you are unable to attend this event, but would like to help, Charlotte’s family is looking for walkers and donors in the upcoming Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides event that will be held on May 16 at Robert Beutter Park in Mishawaka. Visit fightcf.org to register as a walker or donor for Team Charlotte’s Angels.
