North Webster Winterfest 2015 Coming
Returning after a one-year hiatus, North Webster Winterfest 2015 is set to explode on the scene from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6. Sponsored by the Indiana Vintage Snowmobile Association, headquarters for the festival is the North Webster Community Center, 301 N. Main St. (SR 13). Admission to the show is free. Free parking is available on the east side of the community center, as well as across SR 13 behind the North Webster Church of God.
The antique and vintage snowmobile show will be held in the center’s gym along with a can raffle, a 50/50 drawing and a chili cook off. Many types and models of vintage and antique snowmobiles will be shown. Whether wanting a trip down memory lane or wishing to see what the sport involved back in the day, Winterfest 2015 offers a glimpse at how the machines and technology have evolved.
Snowmobile races will be held on Webster Lake or on grass depending on the weather. For up to date information on the snowmobile races, contact Ed Jones at (419) 346-8663 or Chris Ducey, (574) 529-1298.
Indiana Vintage Snowmobile Association is an active group of people sponsoring vintage sled shows, swap meets, rides and a vintage snowmobile museum. The membership is made up of outdoor people who love snowmobiling from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Illinois.
It is the fellowship and common interest of preserving the past of snowmobiling that keeps the group going. New members are welcome and there will be a sign-up table at the show. Those traveling from out of town are offered a discount at Brook Pointe Inn, Syracuse, for an overnight stay if they mention Winterfest 15.
