Three Sent To Hospital After Wreck Near Nappanee
A two-vehicle wreck just north of Nappanee yesterday afternoon sent three people to the hospital.
According to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 3:43 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, Stanley Pletcher, 70, New Paris, was westbound on CR 52 near the intersection of CR 3. Pletcher slowed at the stop sign at and continued through the intersection.
Pletcher collided with a vehicle driven by Lawrence Mullins, 62, Nappanee, which was southbound on CR 3. The two vehicles collided at a right angle. Pletcher complained of pain in his back and chest. Mullins and his passenger, Carolyn Yoder, 58, Nappanee, complained of neck pain. All three were transported to Elkhart General Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries by Nappanee and Wakarusa EMS.
Pletcher was cited for disregarding the stop sign.
