Etna Green Town Council Approves New Bench
In a meeting lasting just over 10 minutes in length, the Etna Green Town Council approved a Girl Scout project that will see a new plastic bench constructed in the town.
Girl Scout Morgan Ousley presented the project to the board and hopes that through it she will gain her “Gold Award,” the highest in Girl Scouts. Ousley estimate that the bench will cost $200 to create, and stated that she hopes to earn the money through donations and Girl Scouts.
Ousley stated that she will be putting cardboard boxes around the community where people can donate their used plastic. “You should be commended,” stated councilman Todd Slabaugh.
The council also approved the booking of the park by the fire department for the date of March 24. Several of the area fire departments will come for a planned day of autism training. The council agreed on a fee of $40 for the day of use. The money will be used for cleaning and maintenance following the training.
The next meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at the Etna Green Fire Station.
