The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for portions of northern Indiana and southern Michigan.
The advisory goes into effect at 4 p.m. today and should last until noon tomorrow.
NWS is forecasting wind chill values between 10 below zero and 25 below zero. These conditions are expected to set in this evening and persist into Thursday morning.
Under these conditions it only takes a half hour for frost bite and hypothermia to set in. Anybody who may need to be outside for prolonged periods of time should bundle up and make sure to keep as much skin covered as possible.
Kosciusko, Marshall, Fulton, Whitley and Wabash Counties are affected by the wind chill advisory. The wind chill advisory is supplemental to the Hazardous Weather Outlook that is in effect for the remainder of the week.
