LCA Falls To Community Baptist
WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian Academy kept pace with South Bend Community Baptist for a little over a half, but fell off pace in a 58-39 win by Baptist Tuesday night in boys hoops.
LCA trailed just 29-21 going into halftime and withstood a shooting barrage from Devon Schock, who hit five threes in the first half. Baptist, however, kept hitting shots in the second half, scoring 15 points in the third quarter and 14 more in the fourth while LCA couldn’t break double digits in either quarter of the second half.
Schock finished with 19 points to lead the visitors while Trent Secor added 14 points. SBCB had four players in total hit for double-digit scoring.
Connor Blum did what he could to keep LCA close, scoring 14 points to lead the Cougars. Josh McDaniel and Jon Harmon both scored eight points each. The loss sends LCA to 0-20 overall this season.
The Cougars will hit the road for two of its final three games, starting Thursday night at Oregon-Davis.
