UPDATE: Double Shooting In Syracuse
UPDATE: Tara Thornburg, 23, is in critical condition in a Fort Wayne hospital following a shooting in Syracuse early this morning. A 19 year old male was found deceased. His name is not being released by police as extended family is still being notified. An autopsy is expected to be performed today.
Brandon Woody is being sought by police as a person of interest. He is considered armed and dangerous. However police believe this was an isolated incident and no threat to the community.
Syracuse Police Department, along with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana Sate Police are currently investigating a double shooting in Syracuse earlier this morning.
More details are expected at 7 a.m. following a news conference.
Syracuse officers responded to a call of a potential shooting at 205 E. Main St., at approximately 12:31 a.m.
Police are currently attempting to locate Brandon Thomas Woody, 22, in regards to his involvement with the shooting.
Initial information related to the investigation is ongoing.
The Syracuse Police Department has currently scheduled a news conference at 7 a.m. today, inside the Syracuse Town Hall, 310 North Huntington Street, Syracuse. Media will be located in the Town Council Chambers within the building.
The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office advises that the defendant’s charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
