UPDATE: Suspect Sought In Gas Station Robbery
A husband and wife were arrested at approximately 10:30 a.m. Sunday in connection with an early morning robbery at Speedway Gas Station. The arrest was made at the Economy Inn, Plymouth, where they had been living.
Curtis B. Branscom, 27, North Michigan St., Room 105, Plymouth, and his wife, Bethany L. Branscom, have both been preliminarily charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, theft, possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of a legend drug.
Det. Leo Mangus had observed Curtis Branscom outside his room and recognized him as the suspect from the store’s video. He was attempting to shave his beard off when he was located by police in the bathroom of the motel room.
Police were able to recover some of the cash, however most of it had been used to purchase heroin in South Bend immediately following the robbery.
Plymouth Police Department received a report at 3:45 a.m. today from an employee of the Speedway Gas Station located on North Michigan Street in Plymouth regarding a robbery that had just taken place there.
An undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes were taken during the robbery. A weapon was not displayed.
A white male with a dark beard being approximately 5-foot 9 inches to 6 feet tall was described as the suspect by the reporter. The suspect has not been located.
