Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to the following accidents:
3:24 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, North SR 15 and North Southshore Drive, Syracuse. Drivers: Mark R. Utter, 36, West CR 800N, Larwill, and Tina M. Miller, 42, EMS Lane, Leesburg. A wheel came off of Utter’s automobile, causing him to drift in front of Miller. Damage up to $10,000.
10:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, SR 15, north of Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Driver: Michael J. Shenefield, 59, North SR 13, Syracuse. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
4:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, North East Wawasee Drive, north of East CR 1250N, Syracuse. Driver: Brandt M. Benzing, 23, North Morris Road, Cromwell. Brandt’s vehicle overturned when he was forced to leave the roadway due to another vehicle entering his lane as it came from the opposite direction. Damage up to $10,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department responded to the following accident:
7:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, East CR 1300N, west of North Kern Road, Syracuse. Driver: Kegan W. Christie, 21, North Huntington Street, Syracuse. Christie hit a patch of black ice, causing him to lose control and veer off the road and collide with a fence. Damage up to $10,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department responded to the following accident:
8:14 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, Chestnut Street and Sunday Lane, Winona Lake. Driver: Hannah N. Arnold, 20, Druck Valley Road, York, Pa. Arnold was attempting to turn around due to a road closure and backed into a parked car. Damage up to $2,500.
