Walorski to Chair First Subcommittee Hearing Tomorrow
Republican Jackie Walorski announced that at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, she will chair her first congressional subcommittee meeting.
Walorski, a member of the House Committee on Agriculture, will take the gavel and convene the first hearing of the Subcommittee on Nutrition. During the hearing, members will be provided with facts and figures from credible, published researchers on the characteristics and dynamics of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly referred to as SNAP. The hearing follows today’s full committee hearing on the past, present, and future of SNAP.
“Tomorrow is an important day for the Nutrition Subcommittee, we have a historic opportunity to examine the SNAP program from top-to-bottom,” Walorski said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to ensure that SNAP runs efficiently and provides assistance to vulnerable populations while giving individuals the tools to succeed.”
