Warsaw Well Represented On All-NLC Hoops List
DUNLAP – Warsaw’s fantastic boys basketball season in the Northern Lakes Conference was rewarded as the Tigers have four players and head coach Doug Ogle among the All-Northern Lakes Conference awards issued Friday.
The 7-0 Tigers had sophomore Kyle Mangas and junior Paul Marandet among the All-NLC list, with seniors Jake Mangas and Rashaan Jackson on the Honorable Mention All-NLC list. Ogle, who has the Tigers at 17-4 overall heading into tonight’s final regular season game at home with Fort Wayne Carroll, was named Coach of the Year.
NorthWood finished 6-1, losing a close game to Warsaw in January. The Panthers have a trio of All-NLC performers in juniors Dakiyron Fox and Braxton Linville along with sophomore Vincent Miranda.
Northridge and Memorial were both 4-3 in the NLC, the Raiders with seniors Tommy Morrison and Pete Smith All-NLC while Charger senior Dimitri Giger is All-NLC and senior Cameron Maxwell Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Goshen and Plymouth each finished 3-4 overall, the Redskins with a pair of All-NLC athletes in senior Austin Woolett and junior Brady Bechtel as well as senior Jack Gingerich Honorable Mention All-NLC. Pilgrim junior Josh Anders was All-NLC and sophomore Nick Felke Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Concord had just one win, but was led by All-NLC selection senior Filip Serwatka.
Wawasee was 0-7 and had senior Alex Clark earn Honorable Mention All-NLC.
